The Law system was destroyed in 70 AD. This action decisively made Jesus’ New Covenant the everlasting covenant for mankind. As a result, Jesus’ plan of salvation is the only way whereby men become part of the true Israel of God! THIS IS NOT A REPLACEMENT OF PHYSICAL ISRAEL, BUT A TRANSLATION OF THEM TOGETHER WITH SAMARITANS AND GENTILES INTO WHAT THE BIBLE CALLS “THE CHURCH,” “THE BODY OF CHRIST,” “THE ISRAEL OF GOD,” AND “THE NEW JERUSALEM” (see Mat 23:4; Act 2:36-39, Act 1:8; 15:10; Rom 1:16, Rom 10:12; Gal 3:28, Gal 2:4, Gal 4:9, Gal 5:1, Gal 6:16; Col 2:16-22, Col 3:11; Eph 2:15, Eph 3:3-10; Heb 9:8-11; Rev 3:21, Rev 21:2).
Paul clearly explains that the true children of Abraham can never come through the Law, but only through faith in Jesus Christ. Paul said it was impossible for fleshly descendants to fulfill Abraham’s promise, for if they could, they would nullify the work of Jesus.
(14) For IF THEY WHICH ARE OF THE LAW BE HEIRS, FAITH IS MADE VOID, and THE PROMISE MADE OF NONE EFFECT:
Paul is showing his readers that God’s promise to make Abraham “a father of many nations” (Gen 17:4), was to also include the Gentiles.
(16) Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but AS OF ONE, And TO THY SEED, WHICH IS CHRIST.
The Bible clearly declares that Jesus is the only true and legitimate heir of the promises to Abraham. Through Jesus, the scriptures show, the members of Jesus’ body (the Church) are included in this same promised inheritance.
(6) Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
(7) Know ye therefore that THEY WHICH ARE OF FAITH, THE SAME ARE THE CHILDREN OF ABRAHAM.
(29) And IF YE BE CHRIST’S, THEN ARE YE ABRAHAM’S SEED, AND HEIRS ACCORDING TO THE PROMISE.
These define what Paul meant by “the election hath obtained it,” for they show “they which are of faith,” are the remnant of Israel. This remnant and believing Gentiles together make up the “body of Christ” (see Rom 11:17; Gal 3:9; Eph 3:6).
Jesus is the “True Israel” (see Rom 9:6-8), as well as the “True Circumcision (see Phi 3:3), the “True Seed of Abraham” (see Gal 3:7, 29), and the “True Jew” (see Rom 2:28). The true message of Jesus Christ was His whole gospel to His whole world…i.e. Jew, Samaritan, and Gentile! This message being offered to men and women of all races is the inheritance that God promised Abraham. Paul relates this truth in Galatians 3:29 when he says, “And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” (also see Mark 16:15; Luk 26:46-49; Act 1:8; Rom 1:6, Rom 10:12; Gal 3:28; Col 3:11). Hebrews 11:16 shows that Abraham looked not for a Canaan that was a physical land, but one that was spiritual: “But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city” (also see Mat 25:34; John 8:56-58; Act 3:18-26, Act 13:26; Rom 4:1-25, Rom 9:1-33; Gal 3:6-29, Gal 4:22-31; Heb 11:8-16). Jesus is our inheritance and He is our hope (see Rom 8:15-17; Gal 3:14, Gal 3:26-29; Eph 3:3-6; Col 1:26-27)! Men and women can enter into the Promised Land of the true Israel of God, because, through Jesus Christ, it is available for them right now!
Jesus is the only true and legitimate Heir of the promises to Abraham. Through Him, the scriptures show, the members of His body (the Church) are included in this same promise.
Inheriting the Promise of Abraham
God said He was going to make Abraham the father of “many nations.” “Nations” is the Hebrew word “Goy.” Strong’s Concordance says this is a “foreign nation; hence a Gentile, heathen, nation, people” (see Strong’s H1471). As we see this promise come to pass in the New Testament, we see that it included Jews, Samaritans, and Gentiles. This is what Jesus’ sealing of the vision and the prophecy did (see Dan 9:24); it allowed access to the Kingdom of God for both the Jews (Act 2), Samaritans (Act 8), and to the Gentiles (Act 10). Jesus referred to these Goy in Matthew 28:19, for there He said to teach and baptize “all NATIONS” The word “nations” is “ethnos,” which is similarly defined as, “A race (as of the same habit), that is, a tribe; specifically a foreign (non-Jewish) one (usually by implication pagan): – Gentile, heathen, nation, people” (see Strong’s G1484). Jesus was literally removing racism by saying this because, after the cross, all peoples were of the same race in God’s eyes (see Col 3:11), all suffered the same problem of sin (see Rom 11:32), and all were given the same offer of grace for salvation through Jesus Christ (see Rom 1:16).
If you believe the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only message of salvation for men and women (this includes all Jews, Samaritans, and Gentiles) today, then you must believe that Jesus Christ and His Church is the true Israel of God. Remember, Israel was a promise that applied to ALL MEN (see Gen 3:15); it was a sustained through Abraham when he was promised to be the father of “MANY NATIONS” (see Gen 17:4). Then, in the New Testament, we see the Old Testament Priesthood touching that promise through the hands of Simeon. As Simeon held the infant Jesus, he said Jesus was to be, “A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel” (Luk 2:32). Jesus amen’d this later when He said: “My house shall be called a house of prayer for ‘all the nations’” (see Mark 11:17). Paul confirmed this when he wrote that the New Covenant message of Jesus Christ negated race, color, financial class, and sex (see Gal 3:28; Col 3:11).
