The included letter is from my daughter. She has been invited to sing at Carnegie Hall in New York, February 1-5, 2018. After reading her letter you will see why we are so very proud of her!
Hi, my name is Carlye Burk, and I am Senior at Lincoln High School in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. This past July I auditioned for a program of a lifetime, and I am excited to announce I just recently was accepted. I have been selected for the 2018 High School Honors Performance Series. I am going to New York City this February for an amazing opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall with other selected Finalists! I am one of 700 finalists selected from 18,000 applicants! The High School Honors Performance Series brings together exceptional high school performers from around the world – this year’s Series includes students from all 50 US States, Washington DC, Guam, six provinces of Canada, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Mexico, New Zealand, Qatar, South Korea, and the United Kingdom!
I will be performing as a Soprano 2 in the Women’s Choir. I am very excited about this life-changing opportunity! I will get to study under master conductors, work with other elite musicians, and perform at Carnegie Hall. I literally breathe music, and I am absolutely ecstatic.
To take part in this opportunity I need some help to raise the funds. Any amount you could contribute would be appreciated.
I am looking forward to using my Carnegie Hall experience next year during my music studies at college.
Thank you very much,
Carlye has a GoFundMe page to help raise her funds. I know any help she gets will be much appreciated.
She also started a BLOG so you can follow her Carnegie Hall adventure and see pictures of her trip.
