Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil. (Eph 4:26-27)
Anger, like all other issues of the flesh, can be defeated through the power of Jesus Christ. Anger that leads to sin is part of mankind’s beastlike nature. It, like all other issues of man’s old nature, is eradicated when they are born again in Jesus’ name. Remember, the “Old Man” dies when a man or woman is made a new creature in Christ! Paul said, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. THE OLD HAS PASSED AWAY; BEHOLD, THE NEW HAS COME” (2 Cor 5:17 ESV). Consequently, a believer’s battle with their flesh can only then occur because they do not yield to their new Christ-nature. This allows them to be exposed and accessible to the habits of their old nature.
Anger, like all other issues of the flesh, can be defeated through the power of Jesus Christ.
Obedience is always at the core one’s experience with God. God told Cain that sin was at his door, crouched and waiting to see whether he would obey God or his own sin nature (see Gen 4:7). Cain’s temptation had to be stopped if he was to enjoy freedom in God. Cain instead opened the door allowing sin entry into his life, and with it came death. Not only did this lead Cain to physically kill Able his brother, but it also left Cain spiritually dead and in anguish for the rest of his days. What if Cain had instead obeyed God? What if he had not allowed sin to cross his life’s threshold? What would the end of Cain’s life have looked like then?
For man to stop sin’s temptations at the threshold, he must have a nature change. Such change is only available through the power of Jesus Christ. The Bible says that we do not battle against flesh and blood (see Eph 6:12). This is because flesh and blood issues die when a person is born again in Jesus’ name. Instead a Christian’s battle is with spirits and powers of darkness whose aim is to cross their life’s threshold. If they surrender their authority over to these spirits, they will enter and bring destruction. On the other hand, if a Born Again Child of Jesus Christ exercises the authority they have in Jesus, these spirits must yield their power and flee. This is why at the name of Jesus, EVERY knee will bow and every tongue will confess He is Lord (see Phi 2:10-11).
If a Born Again Child of Jesus Christ exercises the authority they have in Jesus, these spirits must yield their power and flee.
Because a Saint of God receives a new nature, his anger is controllable. What may be impossible with man is possible through God! To keep sin from occurring, a believer must allow Jesus’ power to reign in them supreme! Whatsoever a person obeys becomes their master. If a Born Again person chooses Jesus, then Jesus has access to lead and guide them around the pitfalls of the works of the flesh. Jesus not only saves a person for eternity, He also saves them so they can live saved right now. Such a life includes being free from issues like anger and the regret that follows. Through Jesus’ name, men and women can stop anger at the threshold of their life. This enables them to experience the emotion of anger, but without sin, thus closing the door on satan’s access to their life.
